Online Marketing Manager is seeking an experienced Online Marketing Manager. The position requires demonstrable experience in online marketing, including social media management, search engine optimization, link building, data metrics analysis, email marketing, and copywriting. We are looking for a highly motivated individual who is an active team player with independent problem solving skills. The Online Marketing Manager is accustomed to working in a fast-paced environment and is flexible in adapting to the evolving needs of a small but growing online publication. The Online Marketing Manager will work under the supervision of the Managing Editor. This is a contract position.


  • Experience with SEO, link building, email marketing
  • Ability to develop and execute online marketing strategies
  • Experience managing social media networks, especially Facebook and Twitter
  • Experience generating and analyzing Google Analytics reports
  • Software: Word, Excel, Google Drive, Photoshop
  • Experience using WordPress (or similar content management system)
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Interest in online publishing, social justice, freedom of speech, literature, and world affairs
  • Extremely organized and detail oriented
  • Knowledge of basic HTML a plus
  • 1-3 years online marketing experience preferred
  • 20 hours a week (in-house with some telecommuting hours)
