Description and Reader Names: If you're working on a memoir, then you know that your memory is the best source of material, your impetus for writing. But memory is often a trickster, telling inaccurate stories and at times failing completely.

Don't let a failure of memory be the end of a writing project. Instead, turn it into the beginning of a creative breakthrough.

Learn how to push beyond the gaps in your memory, investigate contradictions, and take your writing in electrifying new directions in this exclusive daylong workshop with Kelly Grey Carlisle, hosted by the Creative Nonfiction Foundation.

Workshop participants should bring a sample of a work-in-progress or a finished piece (up to 1,500 words) to share in small groups as well as a few photographs (digital or print) that relate to the material they’re writing about.

Breakfast and coffee will be provided. The workshop schedule includes a midday break for lunch at area restaurants, and boxed lunches can be provided for a nominal fee (advance notice required).

*Advance registration strongly recommended for this special Visiting Writer Event. Written feedback from the instructor is available for an additional charge.
