Here Is How It Happens is a darkly comic novel set in Northern Ohio in the 1990s.

March 2013 marks the release of Spencer Dew's debut novel, Here Is How It Happens (Ampersand Books). He is author of the story collection Songs of Insurgency (Vagabond Press, 2008) and the prose chapbook
Mont-Saint-Michel and Chartres (Another New Calligraphy, 2010), as well as the critical study Learning for Revolution: The Work of Kathy Acker (San Diego State University Press, 2011). He teaches in
Louisiana and Chicago.

Poet Michael S. Begnal is the author of Future Blues (Salmon Poetry, 2012). His previous collections are Ancestor Worship (Salmon Poetry, 2007), Mercury, the Dime (Six Gallery Press, 2005), and The Lakes of
Coma (Six Gallery Press, 2003). He was editor of the Galway, Ireland-based literary magazine The Burning Bush as well as the book Honeysuckle, Honeyjuice: A Tribute to James Liddy (Arlen House, 2006). He lives in Pittsburgh and teaches poetry and composition at Duquesne University.

Karen Lillis is the author of four short novels, most recently Watch the Doors as They Close (Spuyten Duyvil Novella Series, 2012). She has been a writer-in-residence at Shakespeare and Company Bookstore in
Paris and is at work on a memoir of her years behind the register at St. Mark's Bookshop in New York. Currently based in Pittsburgh, she blogs about the small press and indie bookstores at Karen the Small
Press Librarian.
