Description and Reader Names:
Have you ever wanted to write your memoir, but the thought of doing so was overwhelming? What if you could capture your most important memories through poems?

This workshop will tap your creative spirit to help you focus meaningful periods and events of your life. You will learn to craft memories into poems, through writing exercises and group discussions. A poem’s special magic is to distill the essence of experience and help the writer shine a light on specific, crucial moments of remembered life. The act of autobiographical writing leads to deep self-reflection, as well as purposeful direction, and a greater sense of well-being as you explore the perplexing, humorous, nostalgic, and sometimes troubling experiences of life. Give voice to those untold stories, and watch your life take on a new shape. Writers Laurie McMillan and Jane McCafferty will guide you on a holistic exploration of health, happiness, and the written word. All levels of skill and experience welcome! There will be plenty of time to share your poems with the group if you desire. No creative writing experience needed.
