On May 3, 2011, about 140 people gathered under the tent on Sampsonia Way to listen to Kyung-Sook Shin, from South Korea; Hervé Le Tellier, from France; and David Bezmozgis, from Latvia and now living in Canada. American poet Terrance Hayes moderated the event, which was sponsored by City of Asylum/Pittsburgh in partnership with PEN/America.

The writers read excerpts from their work and fielded questions about translation and genre as part of City of Asylum’s “Reading the World” series.
