This reading is part of our Write-Read Series.

Teen workshop participants will be interspersed among the following curated line-up:

-JOAN BAUER:
Joan E. Bauer is the author of The Almost Sound of Drowning (Main Street Rag, 2008). Her poetry has appeared in numerous journals including 5 AM, Pearl, Poet Lore, Quarterly West, Slipstream, and US 1 Worksheets, and in over a dozen anthologies, among them, Along These Rivers: Poetry and Photography from Pittsburgh, and Only the Sea Keeps: Poetry of the Tsunami which she co-edited with Judith Robinson and Sankar Roy in 2005. In 2007, her poem “Sleepers,” won the Earle Birney Poetry Prize from Prism International. For some years, Joan worked as an English teacher and educational counselor. Her second book of poetry, Glass Blocks and Begonias, is forthcoming from Tebot Bach.

-CJ COLEMAN:
Cj Coleman is a resident of Edgewood and has resided in the Pittsburgh area since 1988. She is a Pittsburgh Public School teacher, a member of The Madwomen in the Attic, (Carlow University) and a Western Pennsylvania Writing Project, (WPWP) 2000 Fellow (University of Pittsburgh). The support and encouragement given to her by both of these programs, and family and friends, is the ink that fuels her pen. Her work has been published in the Pittsburgh’s City Paper Chapter and Verse, and numerous WPWP, and Madwomen in the Attic anthologies.

-DAN SHAPIRO:
Daniel M. Shapiro is a special education teacher in the Woodland Hills School District. His new book of poems, How the Potato Chip Was Invented, is available from sunnyoutside press.
