Description and Reader Names: When a place disappears, how do memories of that place live on?

In collaboration with Code for Pittsburgh, Creative Nonfiction is offering a FREE evening workshop focusing on how to interview others and tell better stories.

Through the end of 2017, Code for Pittsburgh will be building a map of landmarks that are gone. They're making a free and open record of these landmarks and the stories that connect people to them. The goal is to collect as many landmarks, and stories, as possible. That's where you come in.

Join us on Wednesday, October 25 at 6:00 pm, for an evening workshop on interview techniques and storytelling, plus, more information on how to get involved with this one-of-a-kind project.
Under the instruction of Andrew Conte, an award-winning investigative journalist, we'll cover the basics of getting someone to open up and share their story.

RSVP today to reserve your seat at the workshop!

Following the workshop, we invite all attendees and interested volunteers to join us for a Community Listening Event on Friday, November 3rd where we’ll collect data and stories about landmarks that have disappeared from the city. Perhaps you'll find the inspiration for your next essay while working on the Unlandmarks Project!
