Reader bios:

Barbara Edelman teaches writing and literature at the University of Pittsburgh. She’s the author of two poetry chapbooks: “Exposure,” out this month from Finishing Line Press, and “A Girl in Water,” from Parallel Press. Her poems and short prose have appeared in various journals, among them Prairie Schooner, Poet Lore, Cimarron Review, Arts & Letters, and Rattle; in translation in the Italian journal Nuovi Argomenti,, and in several anthologies. Her full-length poetry manuscript, Dream of the Gone-From City, was a finalist for the 2014 Lexi Rudnitsky First Book Prize from Persea Books. She has received an individual artist grant in poetry from the Pennsylvania Council on the Arts, residency fellowships from Virginia Center for the Creative Arts and The Vermont Studio Center, and the 2012 Students’ Choice Award for Teaching Excellence at the University of Pittsburgh.

Sharon Fagan McDermott is a poet, singer, and teacher of literature at Winchester Thurston School. She has three chapbooks: Voluptuous, Alley Scatting (Parallel Press, 2005), and Bitter Acoustic (Jacar Press, 2011) and has been published in many journals and anthologies. McDermott has been the recipient of a 2001 Pittsburgh Foundation artist award and a 2005 PA Council on the Arts award.
