Description and Reader Names: Local artist and zine-maker, Maggie Lynn Negrete invites you to celebrate her birthday with a variety show, “Adventuring Princesses Up Close & Personal”. Acts include performances by Nathan Zoob, Michael Simon, Ivory Weeds and live, interactive readings of Adventuring Princesses, the stories of Princess Dara and Alva, the backstory to a new fairytale that is being compiled and expanded for publication as Adventuring Princesses, Volume 0. At the event, attendees can preview the new illustrations and rewards available for the publication's Kickstarter that launches January 20th, 2014.

“Adventuring Princesses Up Close & Personal” is a follow up to “Advenutring Princesses In Living Color” an interactive gallery exhibit at the Roboto Project which runs until January 31st. There, eight artists colored illustrations from Negrete's eight-booklet backstory; featured artists are Doyle Daigle, Brian Gonella, Dre Grigoropol, DS Kinsel, Eleanor Mulgrave (10-year-old superfan), Joe Mruk, Steph Neary, and Lizzee Solomon. During the opening at the Roboto Project, attendees also were invited to color images from the original fairytale. Opportunities to color will be available at the January 25th event as well.
